Founded in 1983 and a member of the Vacher Group since 2009, la société de Gravure sur Métaux (metal engraving company), SGM, is a family business that specialises in the fabrication of punchcutters. Recognised as a leading name on our home territory, our aim is to now move into the export market.

Engraving craftsmen and -women are able to work perfectly with modern technology, whilst retaining their references and artisanal identity. Today, industrial embossing is carried out on multi-axis computer-driven machines. But despite this, the master craftsmen and -women remain the only project managers and nothing can be done without their experience. Their interpretation of a sketch, print run or curve is crucial for final fabrication and calls upon their own particular style and feeling that no machine is capable of interpreting.
Our quality control department operates a visual inspection of each component, which are touched up or manually finished by our engravers if necessary. Our dies are carefully maintained before and after each print run.
