Flat hot stamping is a relief printing process using heat and pressure to apply a pigmented or metallic film, known as a foil, to paper.
Hot stamping plates are milled using metal alloys specially adapted for optimal heat conductivity and metallic foil transfer. They can be used for all print runs on all types of supports. Our machinery is constantly being updated to push the technical boundaries dictated by our creative prowess.
More than 15 years ago, thanks to input from our machine operators, we adapted an alloy 3 times lighter and equally as durable as brass to facilitate die production, enabling us to limit our carbon footprint. Our dies are 100% recyclable and recoverable. Materials available: Brass, FTX200, Steel. All thicknesses available. Type of plate : – flat hot stamping – textured hot stamping- hot stamping/letterpressing.
Copper hot stamping dies are made from a special alloy using chemical etching machines and are primarily used for creating complex decorative finishes with short print runs. They are cheaper to produce than milled dies in some cases. Copper is an excellent heat conductor and heats up quickly, which is ideal for hot stamping. As hard-wearing as brass, copper dies are used for flat tint, thin and reserved stamping jobs. These dies are inspected thoroughly and are touched up by hand wherever necessary. They are 100% recyclable and recoverable.
Considering the working comfort of its staff and wishing to be environmentally friendly, SGM has invested in a manufacturing facility that meets the most exacting standards in terms of collective protection equipment and recycling.
Available in thicknesses of 1mm to 7mm. Other thicknesses available upon request.
